# Give the reviewer a reason to decide.

Review each person’s access with the available evidence beside it. Decide what to keep or remove, and retain a record of the decision.

## Keep the decision and its evidence together

A colleague changes teams, finishes a project or no longer needs an administrative role. In an access review, the responsible person checks whether each permission still serves a current business need.

easyIGA brings the person, permission and available history together. Last use, grant details and captured approvals provide context where the connected sources supply them. Missing information is marked clearly, so the reviewer knows which facts need follow-up.

## Understand where access came from

easyIGA records the requester and captured approval steps for requests made through the product. Access granted outside easyIGA is identified separately, using the creation details recorded by midPoint. Historical records may lack an approver or grantor; missing information is shown explicitly.

The [evidence overview](https://easyiga.com/product#evidence-receipt) explains how easyIGA distinguishes a recorded request from access granted elsewhere.

## Follow through on removal decisions

Keeping access and removing it are recorded decisions. When removal is required, the resulting change also needs confirmation from the connected system. Pending or failed changes remain separate from a verified removal.

Choose review populations and frequency from your risks and applicable obligations. The [DORA guide](https://easyiga.com/dora) distinguishes its specific requirements from a general review practice.

## A practical access review

- Confirm the business need. Check whether the person still needs the permission for their current role.

- Read the available evidence. Look at access history, captured approvals and last use where these records are available. Follow up on missing information before deciding.

- Record the decision and follow the outcome. Keep or remove the access, document the reason and check the result of any removal.
